CSH Perspectives in Biology Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory Press is pleased to announce that the full text of Cold Spring Harbor Perspectives in Biology is now available online.Cold Spring Harbor Perspectives in Biology is a new monthly online journal comprising reviews spanning the complete spectrum of the molecular life sciences. It provides the life sciences community with authoritative analyses of progress in emerging areas of molecular, cell, and developmental biology, genetics, evolutionary biology, neuroscience, cancer biology, and molecular pathology.
The contributions are written by leading researchers in each field and commissioned as Subject Collections by a board of eminent academic editors, all of whom are acknowledged to be key figures in their particular fields. These Subject Collections gradually accumulate articles as new issues of the journal are published and, when complete, each represents a comprehensive survey of the field it covers. Cold Spring Harbor Perspectives in Biology is thus unmatched in its depth of coverage and represents an essential source where readers can find informed surveys and critical discussion of advances in the molecular life sciences.
Issues include full-text HTML and PDF versions of the content, together with high-resolution figures, tables and video. The full text is searchable by keyword, and the cited references include hyperlinks to Medline and to the online full text of many other frequently-cited journals.
The July 2009 issue (Volume 1, Issue 1) is the inaugural issue. Online readers may want to sign up for the eTOC (electronic Table of Contents) service, which will deliver each new issue's table of contents via email. The web site also provides access to information about the journal (such as the Editorial Board, and subscription information).
There is currently a free access period for Cold Spring Harbor Perspectives in Biology, which will be available through 2009. In 2010, access to the journal's full text articles will be available via subscription, or by free trial to any institution upon request. All other access (e.g., to abstracts, eTOCs, searching,) will remain freely available and individual articles will also be available on a pay-per-article basis.
